It's official: LeBron James is now part of the Philadelphia 76ers. After more than 23 days as a free agent, the four-time NBA champion has made a decision to return to the NBA's Eastern Conference.

The news was broken by ESPN's Senior NBA Insider Shams Charania. According to him, James' deal with the 76ers is a two-year, $8 million deal with a player option. He joins Nick Nurse's squad, which currently includes Joel Embiid, Jaylen Brown, Tyrese Maxey, and V. J. Edgecombe, making the 76ers a competitive team vying for the NBA title.

LBJ's post-Los Angeles Lakers team has been expected to be the one on which he retires from playing professional basketball. Therefore, he is likely to retire a 76er. It's important to note that "the kid from Akron" idolized Allen Iverson growing up, so his move to the "City of Brotherly Love" likely means something to the 41-year-old superstar.

James will continue to wear the number 23 with Philly (sorry, Tyrese Martin). The "James" 76ers Jerseys is already available on Fanatics and expected to land on Nike.com by September.
