Temetrius Jamel "Ja" Morant might've played college basketball at Murray State, but the Memphis Grizzlies guard has a special connection with Louisiana State University, which hired his former coach, Matt McMahon, in March 2022.
As such, the NBA star has displayed his support for and showcased his relationship with the institution's basketball programs since entering the League. For his latest public act, Morant tasked Nike Basketball with developing Player-Exclusive (PE) editions of his Ja 3 for the LSU Tigers. The school's Women's Basketball Team took to social media to show off the gift and all its gold-and-purple glory. Cleverly-crafted overlays and the bulk of the sole unit opts for the former tone, allowing for the latter color to pop across textile components.
LSU branding replaces typical ZoomX text on the lateral midsole.
The Ja 3 PE will not release via Nike.com. Keep an eye on the Nike Ja 3 "By You" Program to see if you can recreate a similar style on your own.
