The University of Miami is reportedly heading back to Nike.

According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, Miami is set to sign a 10-year agreement worth more than $200 million with Nike, ending the Hurricanes’ current run with adidas. The new partnership is expected to take effect beginning with the 2027 college football season.

The reported deal will pay Miami more than $20 million annually, with roughly two-thirds of that coming in cash and the remainder made up through apparel and other benefits.

For comparison, Miami’s current 12-year adidas agreement reportedly included an annual cash payment of around $6.5 million, in addition to apparel supplied by the brand.

adidas reportedly had the opportunity to match Nike’s offer and submitted a counterproposal, but ultimately did not match the exact terms presented by Nike.

The move reunites Miami with a familiar partner. Nike outfitted the Hurricanes from 1987 through 2015, a 27-year stretch that covered some of the most recognizable eras in the school’s football history. Miami moved to adidas beginning in 2015.

If finalized as reported, the reunion will begin with the 2027 football season, putting the Swoosh back on Hurricanes uniforms after a 12-year absence.

Stay tuned to our official Twitter for more details as they come. Expect an announcement by Nike soon.
