Tinker Hatfields’s Nike ACG Mowabbhas long been a favorite amongst trainer heads and inner fashion circles alike. With collaborations from Comme des Garçons in 2018 to Oliva Kim’s reinterpretation as “the perfect hiking shoe for club kids” in 2019, the silhouette has shared some sporadic success. Since then, it’s been crickets, with the model absent from shelves for the better part of 18 months. Prior to the aforementioned collabs, the trail trainer had been drip-fed to the market, with its most famous OG “Birch” colorway last seen in 2016. Now, with confirmation of the just-mentioned pair for its 30th anniversary in 2021 comes word of another original reto — this one for the first time ever since its 1991 release. Yes, that’s right, the Nike ACG Mowabb OG “Gravity Purple” is finally set to return — and it’s expected to arrive as early as next month.
Returning in all of its OG glory — just as Tinker intended —you can expect to see the titular hue hitting the uppers, its signature bootie sitting in jet black with University Gold trim. More of the yellow hits the forefoot mini Swoosh, whilst subtle hits of Blue Void blend with surrounding blacks at the upper eyestay and midsole. Signature fleck is applied to the latter, as well and the more obvious white-spotted heel and the pair is completed by a few more pops of gold at the heel cage and underfoot branding.
Euro retailers are beginning to list up pairs for an August 1st release, though we will have to wait a little while longer before Stateside stores confirmed their data. In the meantime, enjoy an official look at the pair here below, and make sure that .you keep your eyes glued to our official Twitter account for further updates.
