Nike’s New ACG Zegama Is Built for the Wildest Terrain on Earth

Nike is expanding its ACG footprint with the introduction of the Nike ACG Zegama, a new trail-focused silhouette engineered for the most demanding terrain on earth. Designed for ultramarathons, steep alpine routes, and long technical days in the mountains, the Zegama marks the most rugged entry in the All Conditions running lineup to date. It arrives as the next evolution of the trusted Zegama series, but with a wider fit, enhanced traction, and updated cushioning tuned specifically for long-distance runners who push into the wild.

Central to the design is exposed ZoomX foam placed directly underfoot, offering Nike’s highest energy return at 85 percent while keeping weight low for extended mileage. It pairs with Cushlon 3.0 for added stability on uneven ground, giving the model a more supportive ride than typical long-distance racers. A Vibram Megagrip outsole handles wet and dry surfaces with confidence, using an updated lug pattern and strategic rubber placement for durability and directional control. A forefoot rock plate protects against sharp landings on jagged trails, while a reshaped heel bump helps with precise foot placement during climbs and descents.

Fit and function also take a noticeable step forward. A roomier trail-specific last allows more space in the toe box, while a new adaptive gaiter reduces debris entry over long hours on dirt. Extra padding in the tongue and heel improves comfort deep into ultramarathon distances, and an internal fit band provides dependable lockdown on technical traverses.

The Zegama was refined through extensive feedback from Nike’s All Conditions Racing Department, a group of 22 elite trail athletes who tested the silhouette in race conditions around the world—often logging 400 miles per pair. Their input shaped everything from cushioning balance to lug geometry.

Set within Nike ACG’s legacy of bold, mountain-ready design, the ACG Zegama blends decades of trail experience with the brand’s broader running innovation. It will release in summer 2026 via nike.com and select retailers.
