Nike’s Air Barrage is banking big on special Superbowl editions for the upcoming showpiece in Miami this month, with a second SoFlo-themed edition set to arrive next week. First spotted was a Mid-cut Hurricanes-homaged pair, now it looks to be a tribute to South Beach’s most notorious nightspot: LIV — which coincidentally shares the same roman numeral lettering as this year’s 54th (LIV) Superbowl.
Being the place to be in the SoFlo night scene, you just know that LIV will be booked out from some pre and post-game parties (and even some post-post-post game events). If you’ve ever strolled in through the doors on Collins Ave, you’ll instantly recognize the gold and purple-pink lighting that’s frequently used on the premises, seen here on the bold low-rise Swoosh and other branding hits, while murky gold uppers and smooth black leather overlays set a scene that’s all too familiar for a SoBe regular.
Forwarning: having these on foot probably won’t get you through security, but you can still celebrate the mood when they start hitting Nike retailers like SNSon January 29th and Nike.com on February 1st.
