In a similar start to 2020, the Nike Air Cross Trainer Low is back with a new release to keep avid retro fans appeased all the while leaving us wanting more. This latest colorway dubbed “Speed Yellow” uses the not-too-chunky-not-to-slim lines of the OG and highlights its classic appeal with hints of the Air Trainer Max ’91 as inspiration.
The construction may appear simple at a quick glance but has been expertly executed with its use of strategic overlay placements and a well-thought-out palette to show off its unique lines. The leather upper adorns a “Light Smoke Grey” hue at the foundation which allows for the contrasting overlays of the black medial and the “Speed Yellow” swoosh up top to really shine through. Where the rubber meets the road and offering a comfortable ride is a black and white midsole unit, moldings saturated in speed yellow leads the eyes underfoot to the black and yellow outsole. Completing the look is the plush ankle padding, Nike branding located on the heel and tongue.
