Nike Air Force 1 High Strapless (Sculpt) Honors the OG ’82 Release
August is typically the time of year we start to see Nike’s Air Force 1 option transition from Low to Mid and High cuts, with the latter prevailing as a late-Fall-through-Winter favorite. And anytime it appears in tribute to the OG colorways, it’s bound for greatness — just as this new Nike Air Force 1 High Strapless does.
Honoring the OG white/red High from 1982, the pair arrives in identical blocking, though the build is significantly different. While its use of premium, thick-cut tumbled white leather remains, almost everything else is altered from the original design. As the title suggests, the pair arrives strapless — but that’s not all. Checks are cut into the upper, revealing an underlayer of Gym Red leather. Heel overlays now arrive in unbranded suede, whilst woven tongue tags are swapped out for blank leather labels. The tongues they rest upon are hit with a pre-aged tint, with the same effect added to the midsoles, too. Capping off the design is a set of steel Swoosh-branded dubraes at the forefoot and brand-less insoles of white.
