Nike’s headstrong approach to sustainability has resulted in some pretty creative outcomes. The audacious Space Hippie lineage carries the torch in the most obvious fashion, while the frequent use of Flyleather sits down at the other end of the spectrum. Grind rubber soles have been prevalent, too, but arguably the most whimsical theme that we’ve seen so far is Nike’s “Happy Pineapple” collection — a series of sneakers that utilizes recycled pineapple fibers for the good of the Earth. Now, after the collection has revealed an Air Max 90, Air Max 95, and Free Run, the brand’s marquee silhouette is joining in on the action with this third edition of the Air Force 1 “Happy Pineapple” the latest to appear — this one a men’s-sized release.

Unlike the pair fully clad in cork, this pair arrives in the same vein as the women’s-exclusive release, with heavy-duty twill, recycled textile, and pineapple fibers for its construction. Uppers of a Coconut Milk canvas come dressed in tonal overlays of like twill at the toe and recycled fibred at the eyestay and quarter panels. The pack’s recurring golden hues hit the Swoosh and heel overlays — also of recycled pineapple fibers — the former of which sits atop a Green Glow underlying Check. Finally, the titular character can be seen grinning from ear-to-ear on the tongue, whilst its cinder-like outsole is again flushed with cork particles throughout.

A release date for this third-up “Happy Pineapple” Air Force 1 has been identified for June 25th in Asia, though a Stateside and wider global release is yet to be revealed, but you can expect it to arrive soon. Until then, enjoy an official look at the pair here below.
