Nike is set to honor the legendary Kobe Bryant with a remarkable dual release of the Air Force 1 Low "Kobe Bryant" series. A pristine white colorway is scheduled for summer, and a sleek black colorway is scheduled for the holiday 2024 season.
This initiative celebrates Bryant's monumental legacy and nods to his brief free-agency period during the 2002-2003 NBA season when Nike first crafted player-exclusive (PE) sneakers for the lifetime Laker.
The white variant, often regarded as the "Home" colorway, features crisp white uppers with vibrant yellow soles and Swooshes, accented by purple underlays that echo the Los Angeles Lakers' iconic colors. This design mirrors the PE that Kobe famously wore, marking a rare on-court appearance for an Air Force 1 and symbolizing the beginning of his long and fruitful partnership with Nike.
The newly revealed black colorway also serves as the "Away" counterpart, maintaining the same design ethos but in a bold black leather upper. This pair also features the Lakers-themed yellow and purple accents, the varsity maize-colored Swoosh outlined in Varsity Purple and similar details on the tongue tag, heel tab, and outsole. Kobe's distinctive logo embellishes the heel, underscoring the sneaker's tribute to his enduring influence both on and off the court.
Early reports from Sole Retriever have the pair penned for a Holiday 2024 release, though this is yet to be specified by the brand.
