Nike Sportswear Applies Faux Pony Hair to the Air Force 1 Low "Sail"
Throughout its 42-year history, the Nike Air Force 1 Low has undergone countless iterations. Ahead of summer, Bruce Kilgore's basketball-oriented design has emerged with faux pony hair.
While not the first time the Swoosh applies faux animal fur to one of its popular Nike Sportswear models, the latest application indulges in a "Sail/Muslin" color scheme exclusively offered in Women's sizing. All panels across the top-half, save for the Achilles' heel overlay and tongue, opt for the wild makeover. The soft-tone allows for each strand of faux hair to appear more pronounced, firmly positioning the sneaker within the lifestyle space. The tried-and-proven sole unit underfoot features a faux-aged finish that further distances the Air Force 1 from its sports origins.
Firm Nike.com release details haven't been disclosed as of yet, but that's expected to change by the end of summer. In the meantime, enjoy product photography of the pair below—courtesy of JD Sports.
