Nike’s modern footwear language owes plenty to its big three designers: Peter Moore, whose Air Jordan 1 and Dunk helped define basketball footwear for generations; Bruce Kilgore, the mind behind the Air Force 1 and many more; and Tinker Hatfield, whose run of design work still shapes the brand’s most recognizable ideas. The upcoming Nike Air Force 1 Low “Safari” brings the latter two worlds together, dressing Kilgore’s four-decade icon with one of Tinker’s most famous visual signatures.
The pair keeps things clean at the base, working through a mostly white leather upper, matching laces, and a white midsole. From there, the Safari treatment extends across the Swoosh and heel overlay, adding a grey-spotted texture without overwhelming the classic Air Force 1 shape.
Gold accents add a small but effective hit of warmth. A mini Swoosh is embroidered near the forefoot, while matching tones appear on the tongue branding and printed insole Swoosh. The heel also features a circular badge detail, giving the pair another subtle nod to Nike’s retro design language.

The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Safari” is not trying to reinvent the model, but that is the point. It takes one of Nike’s most familiar silhouettes and filters it through a print that has carried its own legacy since the late 1980s.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Safari” is expected to hit select retailers, including Foot Locker, on August 5th, 2026.
