Nike’s Air Force 1 “Sequoia & Dark Hazel” Leans Into Sashiko Style
Japanese-inspired detailing has quietly become one of the most consistent design themes woven into recent Air Force 1 releases. From embroidered Swooshes to hand-stitched accents and textured textiles, Nike has continued to look toward traditional craftsmanship to elevate the model’s familiar framework. The newest entry in that lineage is the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Sequoia & Dark Hazel,” a pair that leans deeper into the Sashiko story with a mix of tactile materials and precise stitchwork.
The upper arrives in a full tumbled-leather build, alternating between Sequoia, Dark Hazel, and earthy brown tones. It sets a muted foundation, but the Swoosh is where the Sashiko influence is most visible, carrying decorative contrast stitching that mimics hand-applied repair patterns. That same theme carries to the tongue, where Nike swaps out the standard synthetic label for a textile tongue and leather tongue tag marked with loose, tack-style stitching. Each detail aims to replicate the look of hand-mended garments without departing from the silhouette’s familiar shape.

Additional touches include cream lining, black laces, AF1 lace dubraes, and a black midsole framed with subtle red contrast stitching — a slight but intentional nod to the crafted aesthetic. The outsole finishes in an olive-leaning tone that rounds out the palette without overpowering the upper.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low “Sequoia & Dark Hazel” is expected to release in the first half of 2026.
