Available Now // Air Force 1 Low Shadow in Multiple Mismatched Materials

We’ve seen some interesting and intriguing takes on the Air Force 1 over the years, and we’re not just talking in terms of decorating the original Bruce Kilgore design. A few years back, Nike dropped a “Reimagined’ series of five redesigned Air Force 1s, and shortly thereafter released the like-minded “Shadow” series exclusive for the ladies. The latter has seen the most subsequent action, with its deconstructed build often the subject of wild and wonderful colorways. And this new release is by far the most audacious yet.

Arriving alongside a matching Air Max 90, it’s almost Huipil-like in its inspiration with a multitude of colors, textures, materials, and prints all converging in one incredible arrangement. Uppers of pattern satin switch from toe to collar to the tongue, with everything from traditional prints to florals and houndstooth tacked onto the pair. These are surrounded by sail leathers and tack stitching — the heel overlays and tongue tags crimp-cut for effect. More tack stitching appears on the shaggy suede Swoosh, and corduroy mudguards of baby blue. The 90’s mustard Air cassettes are mimicked here by a slap-on rubber panel, while white midsoles and semi-translucent outsoles are united in sail. Corduroy returns to complete the design, with laces appearing to be finished in the famed ribbed effect.
