Though pre-aged sneakers have become the industry standard over the past 18 months, one factor of the pre-loved aesthetic that’s often overlooked is wear and tear. Sure, sail sole units and laces replicate a deadstock, unopened pair from the mid-1980s, but for those kicks that have been worn with love for years on end — where’s the love? This new Nike Air Force 1 Low “Wear and Tear” aims to implement that, as it simulates worn-away finishes to its striking orange suede overlays, while a durable off-white leather rests new underneath. Applied canvas midpanels and tongues provide extra durability, too, without overshining the titular textures at the tongue and heel.
