Since 1983, the Nike Air Force 1 Low has been delivering compelling styles for all preferences. Recently, Bruce Kilgore's iconic design has emerged in a number of patent leather-donning makeovers, evoking fashion trends from the early 2000s.
Although the Swoosh employed the glossy material on designs like the Air Jordan 11 in 1995, patent leather's appearance on the "presidential" low-top basketball sneaker was for more popular as it appeared on a higher number of pairs. NIGO's work on the similar BAPE STA also helped shift consumer habits throughout the aughts, offering a retro style in dozens of shimmering ensembles. The Swoosh's own recent run of patent leather-covered AF-1's has included 'Safety Orange' and 'University Blue' options that quickly moved upon release. The latest offering skews towards the understated, but still delivers a fresh finish for those nostalgic of the past.
Enjoy official photos of the 'Wolf Grey'-colored Air Force 1 Low ahead. The patent leather style should hit Nike.com for $120 before summer ends.
