The Next Nike Air Force 1 “NAI-KE” Features Basket Weave
Rewind to 1980, when Nike explored a fresh wave of Swoosh-free sneakers, crafted in one of their Chinese factories. Although Nike hasn't regularly celebrated the iconic "The One Line" series of prototypes, recent years have shown that Nike still has a soft spot for the series. Again for 2023, the Swoosh will celebrate with another "NAI-KE" Air Force 1. The latest iteration abandons the recently featured sashiko patterns and naturally dyed canvas, opting for a distinctive panel influenced by traditional basket weaving techniques.
Primarily dressed in soft cream leather, the sneakers' middle panels and tongues showcase a woven texture, the former resembling a hemp-like fabric, while the latter features a classic canvas. Atop this lies a unique woven panel that extends around the back to connect with the rear overlay. A suede Swoosh, in a harmonious cream shade, adds another layer to the design. Light tan leather embellishes the interior and insole, with luxurious leather tongue tags and dubraes contributing an extra touch of sophistication. Additional details include NAI-KE branding on the heel, green enamel upper eyestays, color-coordinated heel accents, and a subtle gum rubber outsole.
