The Nike Air Force 1 debuted in 1982 as a rugged, industry-pushing basketball sneaker. A year later, its low-top-variant debuted to offer similar performance in a sleeker package. Since then, Bruce Kilgore's designs have become street-staples, forming part of cultural movements and urban fashion.

According to Sneaker Files, Nike Sportswear is scheduled to launch a special Air Force 1 O96 during the Fall 2026 in collaboration with Outkast. The pair will celebrate 30 years of ATLien, Andre 3000 and Big Boi's beloved album from Aug. 27, 1996.

Nowadays, both Atlanta representatives mostly step out in the Air Trainer 1 (Andre 3000) or something from the Air Jordan line (Big Boi), but landing on the Air Force 1 for the celebratory launch makes sense given the sneaker's place in the '90s street style scene. The shoe is expected to launch in a "Black/Vivid Purple/Deep Night White/Barely Volt/Desert Bronze" color scheme that draws inspiration from the ATLiens cover, which draws inspiration from comic books and Parliament album aesthetics from the late 1970s.
