“Triple White” Nike Air Force 1 Pixel Arrives Oct. 22
The humble Air Force 1 has become the perfect baseline for Nike’s in-house design team to really test their flair. From 2018’s seven-piece set of reimagined designs for and by women, to something as audacious as the recently-revealed “Black Tie-Dye” rendition, its versatility speaks volumes. Always down for experimentation, the next release turns the staple sneaker into something of a conversation starter, with a glitchy “Pixel” Air Force 1 redefining the silhouette’s sleek lines and ever-iconic sole unit — and what better way to introduce it than in a classic white-on-white colorway.
Up top, paneling arrives in close resemblance to Bruce Kilgore’s 1982 masterpiece, with only a handful of noticeable pixelated tweaks, including square eyelets and forefoot perforations (many of which have been omitted), extended, square rear overlays, detached eyelets and cut-in Swooshes on the profile. Most of the glitch action is observed at the sole, with protruding blocks, oversized tread, and shifted AIR branding resembling a pixelated freeze-frame from 1980s home gaming consoles. The cubism continues up top, with special dubraes and geometric branding at the tongue, heel, and insole completing the design.
A release date for the debut Nike Air Force 1 Pixel has not yet been identified, but we do know that these, along with a handful of other colorways will be dropping across the latter end of Summer and over Fall. As always, keep your eyes glued to our official Twitter account for further updates.
