After brief visits to a handful of classic Air Max designs, Nike’s impending “Icons” series will expand to its second Tinker Hatfield-designed sneaker with this Nike Air Huarache “Icons” appearing in the colors of another Hatfield original.
Like others from the collection, this too, borrows a specific OG colorway from Nike’s extensive back catalog. Here, there’s no ambiguity as to what that is, as it bears the unmistakable mix of white, grey, and Sport Red first worn by the original bare-Air sneaker, the Air Max 1. It takes it a step further by reverting the tongue tags back to the original woven finish, which in itself, was a dead ringer for the famous Air Max 1 tag, too. The pair is then completed by the pack-specific “ICONS” branded insoles.
