Update 04.18.23 Dover Street Market LA and London will release these alongside three other recently-revealed "Big Bubble" colorways on April 22nd. A wider retail release is yet to be announced.Original Post 1 For its 35th anniversary, Nike has successfully launched a second tier of their Air Max 1, with alternating styles of the Air Max 86 (aka the Big Bubble) alongside their modernized, smaller-bubble brother that we’ve become accustomed to over the past decade. The latter will see the majority of releases, such as the recently unveiled “Urawa” and “Chili” makeovers. For the Big Bubble it’s expected to see more limited runs. There have been murmurs or an OG “Royal” in the works for 2024, but long before we arrive at that release, it appears the engorged Air Max 1 will arrive in a brand new palette, with first looks at an impending Nike Air Max 1 86 “Greyscale” appearing today by way of official Nike.com imagery.
Pairing neutral and charcoal grey overlays with a light grey mesh upper, the pair provides a classic, heritage charm that's not too in your face. Materials are equally traditional, too, with nylon and suede forming a formidable upper; it even boasts sizing etched onto the sock liner to mimic the yesteryear of athletic footwear.
Grab a first look at this all-new Nike Air Max 1 86 “Greyscale” below, and look for these to land at select Swoosh stockists and Nike.com during the Spring/Summer 2023 season.
