Update 04.18.23 Dover Street Market LA and London will release these alongside three other recently-revealed "Big Bubble" colorways on April 22nd. A wider retail release is yet to be announced.

Original Post 04.14.23 Celebrating its 35th anniversary, Nike has triumphantly introduced a second tier of the iconic Air Max 1, featuring two distinct styles: the Air Max 86 (also known as the Big Bubble) and its smaller-bubble counterpart, which has become a staple over the past ten years. While the majority of new releases will showcase the smaller-bubble design, such as the recently revealed "Urawa" and "Chili" editions, the Big Bubble version is slated for more exclusive runs.

Rumors of an OG "Royal" release are circulating for 2024, but before that, the enlarged Air Max 1 will debut in a fresh colorway, with official imagery of the upcoming Nike Air Max 1 86 "Light Armory Blue" unveiled today.

The striking combination of Football Grey mesh uppers, Obsidian mudguards, and forefoot overlays in the namesake Light Armory Blue hue brings a modern twist to the design. Meanwhile, the classic white midsole highlights the heritage, housing the prominent Big Bubble Air unit. In terms of materials, the shoe features a durable blend of nylon and suede for the upper.

Check out the official images of the brand-new Nike Air Max 1 86 "Light Armory Blue" below, and keep an eye out for their arrival at select Swoosh retailers and Nike.com during the Spring/Summer 2023 season.
