From collaborations with Patta and Concepts, NFT’s from Tinker, and a brand new model dubbed the Air Max Motif, things have been slowly picking up for the Air Max 1 and its 35th anniversary. All of this is coming to a head this month, where Nike celebrates all-thing Air Max this March, starting with Wabi-Sabi and Parisian-informed releases for the ladies. Now the silhouette looks at the silhouette’s wider influence, with this special Air Max 1 “Blueprint” celebrating the global reach of the “sneaker with the bubble”
Anchored down by a bright white mesh, the pair employs premium leather overlays of university blue and white, with accompanying hints of dark royal at the eyestays, textured lateral Check, and forefoot mini Swoosh. The medial side shows Swooshed in a gridded blueprint finish that works with the tongue to mimic the globe’s longitude and latitude lines, with a more direct approach to the theme depicted at the heel’s debossed globe motif. This is represented again on the insoles. Lastly, lace tips are printed with Air Max Day insignia (3.26) as the only visible indication of the Air Max Day celebration.
