It took a little while for things to heat up for the Air Max 1 in this, its 35th anniversary year, with Air Max Day activities and collaborations from Patta and Travis Scott setting up a stellar back-end of the year packed full of general releases. The next to join that lineup is this premium-built Nike Air Max 1 “Burgundy Crush” that brings a unique setup to the Tinker Hatfield-designed classic, revealed today by sources close to House of Heat.

Ushering in a completely tonal look, the pair presents with a plush suede upper, with tonal leather overlays working with subtle shifts in hue. Most of these panels present in buttery soft leather, however, the vamp and heel overlays opt for a reptilian textured finish. More texture is brought in by way of the canvas tongues, while the remainder of the pair is peppered with premium finishes, including metallic gold ring eyelets and debossed leather tongue tags. All of this rests atop a brown shoe-inspired sole unit, complete with protruding rubbers and midsole stitchwork.
