Denim and Leopard Print Drape this Premium Air Max 1

Nike has big plans for the 35th anniversary of the Air Max 1 in 2023, with various releases — both old and new — honoring Tinker’s revolutionary design. As this new denim and leopard-print pair shows, a big part of that celebration has been premium tooling and exploratory concepts.

Packed to the brim with top-shelf materials, the pair starts off with a tonal animal-print woven upper, with more typical applications found across the vamp and heel’s cheetah and leopard prints, respectively. The bulk of the overlays is in traditional dark blue denim, with dual contrast and sashiko-style stitching present.. Collars also feature an oriental-style finish with rich red and gold silks. Textured Swoosh overlays, rope laces, and thick-cut tan leather tongue tags add extra layers to an already-stacked sneaker — but that’s not all, as graphic insoles and houndstooth tongue liners fill the inner. A simple white sole unit sits underfoot, stowing a bright red Air support system to complete the design.
