The average age of interest in golf is growing lower by the day, and with that has come a strong response from the Swoosh, who have repurposed some of the more youth-orientated silhouettes for the fairways. With the likes of the Air Jordan 1, Air Max 1, and Air Max 1, Nike Golf has revitalized itself for a younger market. But it’s not just the models themselves doing the heavy lifting, but the bold colorways, too, that give younger golfers an edgier look to their Footjoy-wearing parents. This Air Max 1 Golf “Periwinkle” is one such release, as it adds a slew of striking finishes and refined details to an ultra-minimal base.
Starting out clean, the pair leans on bright white mesh, neutral suede, white leather and black Checks. From there, things liven up considerably with bright pink painted midsoles (and color-matched Swoosh stitching and tongue branding) muddled purple and black rubber outsoles, and floral decal on the tongue and insole from which the pair’s name derives.
A release for this Air Max 1 Golf “Periwinkle” has just been confirmed for May 4th, with pairs set to hit Nike.com or $170.
