Fore!
Look, I really didn’t want to write about these. But because they’re gaining way too much traction online, I had to bite the bullet.
I also love gold, which make this a little easier. So — here we go:
Nike are no strangers when it comes to adapting iconic sneakers for the links. The Beaverton team have churned out some favorites for the fairways including Air Jordans and Dunks, but now the Swoosh have their sights set on the Air Max series.
1987’s Air Max 1 is probably the most impactful in-the-moment sneaker in history. Sure, the Air Jordan 1, Air Force 1 and Chuck Taylor hold more influential clout, but when visible Air dropped, the entire world lost their collective minds.
And in 2019, they’re doing it again — but it’s not because of the Air.
It’s that grassy-green upper that’s causing comment sections to spike. Apart from the obvious golf-inspired upper, there are some other obvious modifications to the Air Max 1 Golf, like the rugged grass-ready outsole, the smaller embroidered Swoosh, and a reconstructed upper fit for the sport.
Oh, and there’s two other pairs to go along with it. An OG-flavored white/red/grey and a clean black/gum, with several more to follow. Take a quick look at each pair below:
