It’s a rarity for Nike to include the Air Max 1 in its themed collections, often opting for less-prestigious Nike Sportswear favorites. But that is not the case with its latest collection, as the Nike Air Max 1 “Hangul Day” (AKA “No Bubble”) continues a series in which Nike covers up its Air Max line’s best asset.

A sneaker that revolutionized the footwear market and arguably saved Nike’s running division; Everybody had to have the ‘shoes with the bubble.’ Tinker’s genius to showcase the Air technology started a wave of visible Air — all the way through to the VaporMax and Air Scorpion that shows absolutely everything. But this new design — and the accompanying Air Max 97 — covers it up through a solid midsole. But that’s not the most unique thing about this pair, as it stacks on the extra finishes. Here, its minimal beige and tan color scheme oozed elegance, while top-shelf nylon uppers, premium suede overlays, and soft buttery leathers up the ante even more. Add to that jewel and forefoot Swooshes, a lace toggle system, and rear TPU casing, and you’ve got one hell of a release.
