The Nike Air Max 1 Powerwall "BRS" will return in 2024.
The treasured silhouette, initially released in 2006 as part of the exclusive "Powerwall" collection, is confirmed to make a grand comeback next year, this time with the '85 "Big Bubble" design.
The revelation, courtesy of Bubblekoppe, known for their authoritative insights on all things Air Max, indicates that the iconic sneaker will not just be a straightforward reissue. The "Big Bubble" treatment is a nod to the original Air Max design intentions, elevating the sneaker with a more pronounced and retro air cushion.
The gem from 2006 stands out with its distinct color palette and premium materials. Featuring a lively green mesh toe and matching nylon textile base, it contrasts beautifully with a rich brown suede mudguard and heel. The grey felt mid-panel overlay adds depth to the design, while a bold red leather Swoosh slices across the sides. Heritage is celebrated with green “Nike Air” branding embroidered on the heel and a vintage white tongue tag adorned with a classic “Nike” logo and orange Swoosh.
Nike is no stranger to bringing back the Powerwall Air Max 1 models, as evidenced by the return of the Lemonade-inspired releases in 2020.
