Nike has big plans for the 35th anniversary of the Air Max 1 in 2023, with a variety of new and classic releases. The collection will include OG remasters and creative designs inspired by vinyl toys, making sure that Tinker Hatfield’s revolutionary shoe receives the attention it deserves. One of the latest additions to the impressive lineup is the premium-built Nike Air Max 1 “Escape,” and it brings a hint of the Oregon Hinterland.
Cycling through a range of quality textiles, the pair begins with clean white mesh uppers, with shaggy black suede mudguards, smooth “Slate Blue” leather vamp and Swoosh overlays, and “Soft Grey”nubucks over the midfoot and heel. The latter is dressed with embroidered pines reminiscent of the Oregon forests. A simple white midsole hosts both Slate Blue Air supports and black/blue rubber outsoles, and finally, flashes of vibrant red fit out the upper eyestays and brand markings to complete the design.
