As anticipated in any momentous anniversary year, the Air Max 1 is gearing up for a spectacular 35th birthday celebration in 2023. With a mix of OG remasters and imaginative colorways, Tinker Hatfield’s groundbreaking sneaker is set for an unforgettable year. Adding to the impressive roster of releases, this upcoming women’s-exclusive edition promises a fresh take on materials and design elements.

Gone is the typical mesh upper and tongue, with the Swoosh implanting white denim twill in its place. Overlays arrive in both bone and clay red, with both colors alternating between tumbled leather and supple nubuck. Here, it’s the Swoosh, heel, and midfoot panels that prefer the former, while soft suedes sit along the mudguard and vamp overlay. A flash of golden yellow is added at the upper eyestay, and returns in partnership with earthy reds at the atypical tongue and heel branding. They return again at the outsole, this time sharing the stage with white both underfoot and along the EVA midsole to complete the design.
