Air Max 2021 Arrives in Black and White this Week
Although Nike Air Max technology is no longer exclusive to runners, the cushioning remains synonymous with its titular line of trainers. From Tinker Hatfield’s iconic Air Max 1 in 1987, the annual series has grown in shape and stature — as too has the size of the Air units used. For this year’s model, we’re getting something bolder again, with the new Nike Air Max 2021 donning a hollowed-out rear cage and bulbous Air support in the rear — and that’s not the least of it!
It’s breathable, the mixed-material upper hosts differing weaves, textures, and tack-stitch overlays, while its vamp and tongue feature a hot mess of loose overlays and utilitarian pulls. The first handful of pairs, like this simple black and white make, aims to juxtapose the design with simplicity — but you should expect to see some more daring options arrive soon.
