Although it’s stepped to the side amidst the Air Max 90/95 anniversary celebrations, Nike’s hybrid cushioned Air Max 270 React has been quietly building a solid run of releases in the background. Now, as we dig deep into the depths of trail season, the silhouette has popped up in a South American-inspired, mountaineering-flavored option.
Not only is the pair graced with neutrals, earthy browns, and pops of vibrant color that we’ve come to expect from all outdoor-inspired releases, the pair ups the thematic further with the inclusion of mountain cat-like prints at the mid panels, and faux feline furs along the tongue and heel. Further, finer furs are found on the pair’s liner — and the pair is even furnished with colorful gemstones — also frequently found items in the South American mountain ranges. Completing the design is a flecked finish applied to both the midsole and outsole, colorful rope laces and rear pulls, and a carabiner hangtag for effect.
