A turn-of-the-century classic, Nike’s “Midnight Navy” palette of white, blue, and silver graced pretty much every silhouette in the year 200, from several Nike Shox editions to the just-announced retro of the Tailwind 5. In fact, one of Jordan Brand’s first-ever non OG colorways was the Air Jordan 6 “Midnight Navy”— one that desperately needs to see a retrospective release. Until that day comes, we’re left to enjoy the staple colorway on s few of Nike’s newest silhouettes, the latest being this Nike Air Max 270 “Midnight Navy”
Not deviating from tradition, the pair sports a striking white upper with complimentary accentuations in the title color, found here at the heel, midfoot, and toe overlays. Rear Air units and pulls also don the dark blue hue, as does the forefoot’s traction pad underfoot. Metallic silver is used sparingly, featuring only on the tongue and midfoot Swoosh branding, while other branding hits surface in white to complete the design.
