Nike Brings Total 90-Inspired Branding to a "Black/Yellow" Air Max 95
The Nike Air Max 95's 30th anniversary celebration continues to reference popular and niche touch-points of the iconic design. The latest nods to the sneaker's connection with football, specifically the brand's Total 90 series from the early-to-mid-2000s.
A first-look at the unreleased pair was uploaded to X by Sneaker Market (courtesy of ATTAPREBOUND), teasing an eventual launch of the commemorative Air Max. Most of the silhouette is overtaken by different shades of black, allowing for reflective panels and branding elements to deliver contrast. Accents throughout Sergio Lozano's design enjoy yellow flair, while a T90-reminiscent circled 95 emblem appears on the top-of-the-tongue and medial heel. The pair-specific logo plays with the Air Max 95 and Total 90 names while harkening back to a golden era of "the beautiful game."

Prior to Nike Football launching its Total 90 franchise in 2004, one of the sport's most visible connections to the Air Max line arrived in 2002 by way of Brazil's National Football Team. Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, and other Swoosh-backed players exclusively wore the AM95 in its original "Neon Yellow" color scheme (which had been reissued a year earlier) as they made their way to a FIFA World Cup trophy.
Brazil's on-pitch dominance and off-pitch aura captivated fans everywhere. Countless youth made it a mission to replicate the team's joga bonito ("play beautiful") style, which led to sales of Brazil jerseys, Dri-FIT gear, Mercurial boots, and the Air Max 95.
T90 arrived two years later, but the link between the Air-cushioned sneaker and football had already been established, making it and other Air Max offerings mainstays in wardrobes of European and South American youth once the new franchise launched.
