Over the past decade, we’ve seen the Swoosh celebrate the original sketches of some of their most iconic designs. From Tinker Hatfield’s Air Max 1 to his brother Tobie’s Nike Air Presto, hand-drawn themes have been a mainstay of the brand’s lifestyle lineage. Now, a new pack is emerging that continues the trend but also appears to celebrate the birth of one of the most successful footwear lines in history, the Air Max, and it will kicks things off with this Nike Air Max 95 “Sketch”
Delivered in a striking black and white scheme, the pair looks to an all-black base, from murdered-out sole units to jet black mesh uppers, tongues, and guards. It’s then popped with piercing white cascading profile panels which feature etchings and messages encouraging the wearer to do a little DIY; It even comes with its own Nike-branded Sharpie for the job at hand. There are a few more pops of white to complete the pair, including Joshua Vides-like trim on the Air bubbles and added forefoot mini. Swooshes, and 1987-branded tongue tags that celebrate the line’s origins.
A release date for this new Air Max 95 “Sketch” is yet to be revealed, but you should expect to see pairs hit select stores and Nike.com during the Autumn season.
