During Spring and sometimes Summer, sneakerheads often can’t find the perfect sneaker for those half-days. You know the kind; Days that start out stormy then blister in sunshine or vice versa. If you go canvas, you’ll get wet feet, but it’s also breathable for when the sun breaks through. While there’s been some notable mixed-material Nikes of late that have approached this exact subject, none have been more obvious about it than this Air Max 95 “Summer Shower”
As the title suggests, the pair is equipped for mid-year precipitation, with a wool and twill-constructed pair clad in greyscale, and encased within a fully-translucent TPU coating for all-weather wear. The latter is glazed with criss-cross Nike Sportswear motifs that disguise the paneling beneath, while all-new tongue construction and semi-translucent outsoles continue the run of fresh new finishes. Elsewhere, we see low-light-friendly 3M reflective detail on the eyestays and rear panel, as well as what appears to be a UV-sensitive Swoosh at the ankle.
A release date for Nike Air Max 95 “Summer Shower” has been set by Asian retailers for May 22nd, with pairs likely to arrive at Stateside stores in or around that date.
