Available Now // The Air Max 97 is Back With a Baseball-Inspired Release
It’s been a long minute, but the widely-loved Air Max 97 is back, priming itself for a big spring season ahead. And, with Spring in mind, Nike is looking back to Baseball for inspiration on this bold ‘n’ black edition. Houston fans will instantly recognize the throwback red/orange/yellow gradients from their 1980s fits, while pinstriped pull tabs call back to a long-time staple print for the nations’ favorite pastime — a game which is directly shouted out on the infield imprint on the insoles. The material makeup for this pair is intriguing, too, with a full canvas upper and mudguard overlay arriving in unusual fashion — the latter decorated with horizontal stitching like that seen on the brim of a New Era On-Field. Adding further intrigue is the use of nubuck tongue overlays and embroidered black overlays in place of the regulation 3M Reflectives.
Take a peep at this very unique hardball-inspired Air Max 97s below, and look for these to hit select Swoosh stockists and Nike.com over the coming weeks. As always, keep your eyes locked on our Twitter Feed for further updates.
