Available Now // Air Max 97 “Gold Medal”
With the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo right around the corner, we’re starting to see a slew of themed sneaker selections hit the market. We already know of a “Tokyo” Air Jordan 3 and the possible return of 2001’s “Japan Pack” of Air Jordan 1s — and we just got a five-pack of Olympic Ring-colored Air Max 97s unloaded on us last week. Now, it appears that there’s more Summer Games-themed sneakers on the way, with another “Gold Medal” Air Max 97 appearing early this morning, following on from an all-over gold pair that we previewed just last week.
This edition of the Air Max 97 arrives with a more yellow-gold finish than its predecessor, as well as added-in white hits on the midsole, liners, and heel branding. Metallic gold Air supports peer through clear Air windows, and it sits atop a translucent gum rubber outsole that comes flecked with a glitter finish. Capping off the design is the silhouette’s standard 3M reflective overlays and golden Swoosh dubraes.
Take a look through the gallery of images below, and look for this golden Air Max 97 to hit select Swoosh stockists and Nike.com over the coming weeks. As always, keep your eyes locked on our Twitter Feed for further updates, including the possibility of accompanying silver and bronze editions.
