Nike Tack on Textured Toolings to the Air Max 97
The Air Max 97 has seen it all since its rebirth just two years ago. From deconstructed OFF-WHITE takes to sole swaps courtesy of Sean Wotherspoon — and even crystal-encrusted uppers via Austria’s Swarovski. It’s clear that the iconic speeding bullet-inspired design is open to experimentation. And while the nest rendition to surface opts for new toolings, it’s relatively tame compared to those mentioned earlier.
Rocking with a white mesh upper, the sneaker is paired with grey tongues and 3M reflective overlays, the former sporting bubble-like textures over the lower two panels. The Ice-blue mudguard arrives textured, too, donning a hexagon/honeycomb-esque detail. A third texture appears by way of the white midfoot Swoosh panel, arriving with a reptilian effect. Completing the triple-textured design is ice blue lining, white midsoles, and Air Max unit, grey outsoles and quick flashes of Racer Blue on the Swoosh branding, heel pulls and sporadically on the outsole.
Take a peep at the official images below, and with pairs already arriving at stores throughout Asia, you can expect a Stateside release to hit Nike.com very, very soon.
