The Nike Air Max DN "Medium Violet" is an Ode to an OG Air Max Plus
Few Air Max silhouettes hold the legacy of the Air Max Plus. Since its 1998 debut, the bold design has not only built a loyal following but also served as the blueprint for several Nike models to come, from the VaporMax Plus to the new Air Max DN. That influence goes beyond design language, extending into colorways that have defined generations of Air Max lovers.
The next release in the DN lineup taps directly into that heritage with a clear nod to one of the most iconic colorways ever created: the OG Air Max Plus "Voltage Purple." Returning just last year, that fan-favorite finds new life on the modern DNA of the Swoosh’s latest Air Max model.
Drenched in a “Medium Violet” gradient mesh, the upper channels the unmistakable tones of the original. Black rubberized overlays and sole units encase the vibrant base, while high-voltage orange accents strike the Swoosh, tongue, and DN Air supports, completing the tribute with undeniable clarity.
This homage to the OG is not only a nostalgic nod for longtime fans, but a testament to how influential the Air Max Plus remains to Nike’s future-facing designs.
Expect the Nike Air Max DN “Medium Violet” to land at Nike.com and select retailers this Fall.
