Nike Running's current ambitions might be set on helping elite athletes run a sub-2-hour marathon, but some of its most beloved designs from yesteryear continue receiving second and third lives thanks to the Swoosh's Sportswear division. The latest recipient of the brand's nostalgia treatment is the Air Max Moto+ 6 from 2008.

Now rebranded as the Air Max Moto 2K, the sneaker formed part of a dual-cushioned running franchise born in 2003. Part of the Bowerman Series (which birthed the Nike Vomero catalog), the sneaker featured Cushlon foam and Air Max technology. The setup provided runners with a comfortable, stable ride reminiscent of the popular Air Max Triax line.

The Air Max Moto franchise was ultimately discontinued, making way for more modern offerings under the Pegasus and Structure lines, but it's set to return soon as a fashionable mesh runner retro. Similar Pegasus 2K5 and Vomero 5 reissues have been at the forefront of Nike's Y2K-friendly efforts, which have been direct responses to the popularity of competitors.

Although the Air Max Moto 2K is set to release in a variety of color schemes throughout the second-half of 2025 and beyond, the pair recently surfaced in a "Black/Metallic Silver/Anthracite" ensemble exclusively offered in Women's sizing. The first-look—courtesy of JD Sports—showcases a faithful retro of the 17-year-old design. A porous mesh base is overlaid with shimmering synthetic panels that curve towards the forefoot across the mid-foot. Cushlon and Air Max cushioning reprise their roles on the pair, simultaneously harkening back to the past while delivering a trendy aesthetic.

It's likely the retro Air Max-cushioned model will arriving in styles for both Men and Women, but, like the aforementioned Nike Sportswear options, it's probable that the brand will more heavily market the Moto 2K to the latter group.

Stay tuned for firm Nike.com release details of the reborn Air Max Moto+ 6. The silhouette is priced at $130.
