Though it retro catalog continues to flourish, the Nike Air Max linage has, quite frankly, failed to fire over the past few years, with new models mostly missing the mark. To counter that, the Swoosh will look to revolutionize the line with the brand-new Nike Air Max Scorpion for 2022.
Reported by Complex, the new model features a design similar to that of the VaporMax Plus and VaporMax Flyknit models, with uppers informed by the latter, and quite an obvious nod to the former through the pair’s bulbous bare-Air sole unit underfoot. The source comments that the Nike document which previews the Scorpion doesn’t go too deep into the shoe’s design background, but does position it as part of a new phase for Air Max shoes, describing it as using enhanced Air that offers “tomorrow’s comfort today.” The same document hints at the future of Air Max shoes to come in 2025, which will involve adjustable Air cushioning.
Complex identifies that the Nike Air Max Scorpion is currently scheduled to arrive in mid-September 2022. Until more news arrives, you can enjoy an official look at the pair here below, and be sure to keep your eyes locked on our official Twitter account for further updates.
