Nike’s Air Max “City Special” collection is expanding by the hour, with yet another addition appearing — this women’s-exclusive Nike Air Max Up “Lady Liberty” which honors New York City’s most famous female resident.
A colorway fitting for the silhouette designed specifically for a woman’s foot, this Nike Air Max Up “Lady Liberty” take’s the welcoming statue’s famous green tine and applies it to the entirety of the upper with significantly higher saturation. The ripstop upper and its varying overlays work through a subtle range of tonal hues before brought whites are brought in at the liner and midsole for contrast. Heel clips and Air units take on a brighter green hue, a unit that rests adopt a cement grey undercarriage — much like Lady Liberty herself. Rounding out the theme is a set of metallic gold NYC-decorated dubraes, and just below, a mini gold Swoosh — both in ode to the Lady’s flickering lantern.
Though a release date for this Nike Air Max Up “Lady Liberty” has not been officially confirmed, a slew of other pairs from the collection has popped up on Nike.com in preparation for a February 26th release.
