Available Now // The Nike Air Metal Max Returns in 2020

During the peak of trainer popularity in the late 1990s, no other sneaker brand did big, chunky and aggressive like Nike. And none were as aggressive as the metal-meshed, jagged-toothed Air Metal Max.

It boasted a slew of layering, ventilated cut-outs, and bold branding hits, along with a segmented Air Max sole unit ensuring it would be noticed. The trainer for the turn of the Century, it debuted in 1997 and returned with a smaller reissue early in the new Millennium, but has yet to be seen in almost 20 years — until now. 2020 will see the silhouette on the comeback, with two colorways already on the way; the OG Black/White and a bold Neptune Green and White, each sporting classic steel grey metallic mesh around the vamp and heel cutouts. Both will arrive in traditional nubuck uppers, overlayed by smooth white leathers and come complete with mesh tongues.

Much like we saw from the reinstatement of the Nike Air Barrage last year, we’re expecting a flurry of Metal Max colorways both new and old to arrive later this year — but this duo will look to kick things off in the coming weeks.
