Despite its heavy focus on futuristic designs, Nike has not forgotten the importance of its history — especially to its bottom line. Through all of its exceptional advancements, their back-catalog still serves up a significant chunk of their revenue, with retro runners making up a sizeable portion of that. Aside from the mainline Air Max releases, Nike has a penchant for reintroducing select silhouettes on an annual basis — and for 2021, the Nike Air Structure Triax 91 will be one of those select few — all the more fitting considering it will be celebrating its 30th anniversary year. And what better way to celebrate it than with a release of the OG Nike Air Structure Triax 91 “Neo Teal”.
Returning for the first time since 2008, the 2021 edition appears to be a near 1:1 replication of the original, with every one of the points brought back. Stop it’s white mesh and grey suede upper, the pair is popped with flashes of the titular Neo Teal on the lateral and Nike’s signature Infrared on the medial. The two come together at the tongue, while red returns to the heel embroidery. But what makes these really pop is the significantly loaded front-end, with black toes anchored in the rear by matching liners and heel clips.
