No other collaborator has a hold over Air Max Month than Japan’s atmos. The retailer is responsible for some of the annual celebration’s biggest releases, including the Air Max 1 “Elephant”, their “Animal Pack” and the famed “Duck Camo” Air Max 90 — the latter, of course, was just inverted for this year’s headline release. Arguably their most acclaimed effort is the aforementioned Elephant, so much so that any subsequent sneaker release in a black, white and aqua combination is automatically given the “atmos” moniker. This VaporMax 3.0 is no different, immediately drawing parallels to 2007 classic — even without the title animal print present. It does, however, mimic the motif with a muddled black and white knit hidden beneath the ribbed upper. But while the color scheme may resemble that of the famed Air Max 1, this pair distances itself by flipping the scheme to predominately white, with jet black sole units, pulls, and Flywire serving up some stark contrast. Swooshes are akin to those of the famed Air Max, arriving in vibrant Aurora Green, with the shade recurring once more on both the underfoot traction pads and the pair’s tongue and heel branding detail
