Nike’s well-documented focus on sustainability has lead to an abundance of eco-friendly footwear options over the past 12 months, most of which are instantly recognizable by a handful of shared characteristics. Most famously of the lot is Nike’s color-flecked grind rubber sole units which have featured prominently on a slew of Nike classics, including the Air Force 1, Air Max Plus, and the Air Max 90. Now it graces an oldie — the Nike Air VaporMax 3 — as part of a special series dubbed the “Exeter Edition”, a collection inspired by Swoosh employee Jeff Johnson’s 1974 trip to New Hampshire that sprouted the brand’s first recycled shoes.
Like the collection’s Air Max 90s, the Nike Air VaporMax 3 “Exeter Edition” shares similar design traits, including split-blocking, vibrant highlighter hues, and the aforementioned grind rubber finish underfoot. The VaporMax, though, indulges in a significantly more colorful composition, introducing bright orange, lime green, and navy into the mix, to join the theme’s focus on neon and volt. Swooshes of red and silver arrive on the later and medial sides respectively, and the pair is capped off with a full-translucent VaporMax sole unit beneath.
Though a drop date for the pair has not yet been confirmed, you should expect to see pairs rolling out at select Swoosh stockists over the Spring. Until then you can take an official look at the three pairs here below, and make sure you’re giving us a follow here on our official Twitter account for further updates on its release.
