As 2006’s first shoe cushioned entirely by air, the Nike Air Max 360 is an important piece of the Air Max puzzle. and definitely one worth celebrating. This year, instead of a straight retro release, Nike thought that the best way to honor it was to showcase that true full-length cushioning exposed by-way-of their recent VaporMax tech. A new hybrid was born and the VaporMax 360 has since become a favorite amongst sneaker aficionados new and old. From a brief hibernation over the Winter season, we’ve seen a slew of fresh seasonal drops hit shelves — and nothing is fitter for summer than a striking white-based option. And right on cue, another appears — this one sporting an interesting mix of accents from stark blacks, to punchy reds and a vibrant Speed Yellow.
Arriving anchored in a white base, the rubberized upper, liner, heel clip and midsole pieces all arrive accents in polar-opposite black, while pearlescent Swoosh placements at the midfoot add in an elegant touch. Running down the shoe’s medial line is a bevy of red accents and yellow tongue branding, with the latter recurring across the full length of the insoles. Capping off the design is the shoe’s icy blue translucent VaporMax sole unit.
