After having previewed the debut release of the Nike Air VaporMax EVO last year, we quickly learned that the new hybrid sneaker has taken more than just design elements from the three decades of Air Max releases; it takes its colorways, too. This pair does that too, resulting in an apt Nike Air VaporMax EVO “What The?” title
Though the pair’s accompanying booklet goes into much detail as to which design panel refers to what, there are some easily-identifiable elements, namely the Air Max 90 overlays. Left lateral mudguards stand out in the same “Lunar Landing” graphic prepared about seven years ago, while the opposing left foot ushers in fighter jet influences of the “Warhawk” Air Max 90. Medial sides are reserved for Snakeskin and Camo coverings, while safari prints ride the rear overlays. Midfoot shanks are decorated with distinguishable Air Max 95 and Air Max plus detail, too. The rest, for now, is up for interpretation, from canvas lateral panels to faux fur forefoot overlays and a mostly monochromatic make, it’s likely that you’ll have to have a full look through the booklet to get an in-debt definition of each.
A release date for the Nike Air VaporMax EVO “What The?” has been set by the retailers listed below for February 18th globally — with North America set for Feb. 25th — for an expected price point of $225.
